Sea Dreams Bathing Suit Version 1ba

Sea Dreams Bathing Suit Version 1ba

Postby ryjmom » Fri Mar 08, 2013 4:30 pm

I am a very experienced crocheter however, I am having a problem with one round. It is on the body, round 4. My assumption is that the portion in brackets [sc in next sc, sk next 2sc, sh in next sc, sk next sc] is what is supposed to be repeated 12 times. If you count the number of stitches used in the round I believe it is 66. The previous round you have 78 sc. Therefore I have sc left in the round. I'm sure I am missing something but I have tried for hours now to figure it out. Please help!!

I haven't tested this pattern, but it looks to me like the sk next sc should also be sk next 2sc.

Hello!

Tralee is correct! This an error, and I am so sorry this was in the pattern. We really try to make sure every pattern is error-free!!

Uncorrected:
Rnd 4: (RS) Ch 1, sc in first sc, sk next 2 sc, sh (see Stitches) in next sc, sk next 2 sc, [sc in next sc, sk next 2 sc, sh in next sc, sk next sc] 12 times, join with sl st to first sc, turn––13 sh, 13 sc

Corrected:
Rnd 4: (RS) Ch 1, sc in first sc, sk next 2 sc, sh (see Stitches) in next sc, sk next 2 sc, [sc in next sc, sk next 2 sc, sh in next sc, sk next 2 sc] 12 times, join with sl st to first sc, turn––13 sh, 13 sc

Hi, After taken out rnd 4 twice, Last night, I realized that (sk next sc) should be sk next2 sc (12 times ). This is why I signed up to the forum today. To let you & other crocheters know. I Was happy to see that you had the corrected directions. Does anyone know if there is any other mistakes in the pattern moving forward?
Thank you,
Carolann

Hello Carolann!

Thank you for posting :) So far, no other errors have been reported except for that row :) Please do let me know if you come across anything. Hopefully it is all smooth sailing from here.

I am so sorry you had to rip this row out a couple of times. I know how frustrating it can be. We really try to make sure everything is caught, but it seems every so often something sneaks in.

Lisa :)

I have the pattern, but I can not find the size 5(1.90 mm) hook.

Helen,

My suggestion is to try the closest size steel hook you have to see if you get gauge with it. I usually have to use a different hook than a pattern calls for. My local big box stores do not carry many hooks anymore so I have ordered some from amazon.
