Ocean Breeze

Hi, I purchased this pattern but then realized that I am not anywhere near the intermediate level. I know there are some things I can look up on google or youtube, but I'm having trouble even just getting started with the underarm band! It appears to me that rows 1-4 are done in the main color since it says to change to the contrasting color at the end of the last row. But that doesn't match the photos and also doesn't really seem correct, as it appears to me that the body is worked in the main color, but there isn't a designation to switch back to the main color. Can anyone help me get started please??? My daughter really loves this outfit! Thank you!!

Oh goodness, I just had MC and CC switched in my mind. I knew it had to be something obvious I was overlooking! Ok, now I think I can get started at least, but I'm sure I'll have questions later!

Hi Londa, Can you tell me which version of the pattern you have? That will help me make sure I am responding the correct way since patterns are constantly being updated here :) It should say in the footer of your pattern what version you have :)

Hello Londa, I wanted to let you know I took a look at the latest version of the pattern.

From what I can tell, it looks to be worded correct. If you have another version, please let me know what you have :) I am looking at Version 1M. Row 1 has you start out with MC (which is the ocean color). You start out with the Band which is right below the underarm (which is what it shows in photo- the underarm Band in MC which is ocean).

Then at end of Row 4, it specifies to change to CC (which is white).

I hope this helps some. It would seem that the most would think the MC is white, but it is actually ocean. I am wondering if perhaps that is the confusion :) Let me know, or do let me know what version you have so I can see if any corrections in an older version need to be made. Thank you!!

I have this pattern and I can not find the size 6 (1.80mm) hook.

Helen,

My suggestion is to try the closest size steel hook you have to see if you get gauge with it. I usually have to use a different hook than a pattern calls for.

I'm sorry I can't help you wish I could :-) but I wanted to let you know that Lisa, the designer is having computer difficulties right now and that that is why she hasn't responded. Hopefully they will be resolved soon.
