Postby hendrix9906 » Sun Oct 21, 2012 6:35 pm

Im sure its me not understanding what the pattern is saying but I need some help. I am on the sleeve Rnd: 1

it reads. attach thread with sl st to fisrt ch-2 on sleeve (this is frist ch-2 next to free loop of underarm, ch1 work 3 hdc in first ch 2, 2 hdc in each of next 21 ch-2 sps, work 9 hdc evenly across underarm.

If i hdc in the 21 ch-2 spaces I still have some ch-2 left Do I leave them unworked and go on to the nine hdc under the arm??

Help!!

Thanks,

Hello Crystal :)

For the NB size, you should have 22 ch-2 sps. How many do you have?

Above when you were doing the yoke, I have highlighted in blue how you get to have 22 ch-2 sps.
Forming Armholes / Body Foundation
Row 1: Ch 1, hdc in each of first 9 hdc, 3 hdc in next ch-2 sp, 2 hdc in each of next 10 (10, 11, 12, 12) ch-2 sps, *ch 9 (12, 12, 12, 12), sk next 22 (24, 24, 27, 28) ch-2 sps*, 2 hdc in each of next 25 (27, 29, 29, 31) ch-2 sps, rep from * to * 1 time, 2 hdc in each of next 11 (11, 12, 13, 13) ch-2 sps, hdc in each of next 4 hdc, ch 1, sk next hdc, hdc in each of last 4 hdc, turn––112 (116, 124, 128, 132) hdc, 1 ch-1 sp, 2 ch-9 sps (2 ch-12 sps, 2 ch-12, 2 ch-12 sps, 2 ch-12 sps).

Now when you go to attach, out of these 22 ch-2 sps, you want to attach your thread to the first of these 22 ch-2 sps. Here is the instruction for the Sleeve below:
Rnd 1: With RS facing, attach thread with sl st to first ch-2 sp on Sleeve (this is first ch-2 sp next to free-loops of underarm, ch 1, work 3 hdc in first ch-2 sp, 2 hdc in each of next 21 (23, 23, 26, 27) ch-2 sps, work 9 (12, 12, 12, 12) hdc evenly across underarm (Note: Placement of hdc along underarm is not critical, just insert hook into edge of stitching and work the hdc evenly across), join with sl st to first hdc. Do not turn––54 (61, 61, 67, 69) hdc

So for NB size, you will work 3 hdc in the first ch-2 sp, and then 2 hdc in each of the last 21 ch-2 sps. Make sure you are not confusing the ch-2 sps with free-loops. The free loops will be located at the very bottom of the underarm. Think of when you have a shirt on, the armpit is where these free loops will be located. Those are not the ch-2 sps. Let me know if this helps and makes some sense?
