Which part of the pattern are you having trouble with, the back panel? I'll try to answer for that row.
When you made Row 1 you had a series of single crochets (sc) and ch 1's (ch-1 sp). For Rows 2-4 you start and end each row with a sc in the first and last sc of that row. The rest of the row you will be doing a ch 1, then a sc in the ch-1 sp from the previous row. So basically, with the exception of the first and last stitches of each row, you will be working the pattern in the ch-1 sps.
