Elk Mountain scarf finishing/edging rounds

Elk Mountain scarf finishing/edging rounds

Postby erickapratt » Mon Oct 15, 2012 7:42 am

Hello, I am at the end and it says hdc "around" but I'm confused with the instructions. If I hdc two in each row end, the side edge ripples drastically. I tried changing to a smaller hook, and that only helped a little. What am I doing wrong? Also, is it really five hdc in the corners? This does not produce a square corner. Thanks.

work the hdc around - you might need more or less then 2 in ea to keep in laying flat

So, you mean randomly??? Super. LOL. Who has done this pattern, and how did they do it? Thanks :-)

Well, here is what worked for me...ch2, 2 hdc in first, last, and 2chspc on top. Then ONE hdc in all row ends, except first and last which I did three for corners, five total at corners. Then proceeded to second round of rsc as instructed.

am glad it worked out for you -

had been trying to find the pattern for this to make sure i told you the right stuff to do - however you posted in rugged mountain scarves and this is actually part of the mountain range scarves so took me a bit to find it --

just know - when changing an edging - you MUST still have the same number of stitches across each side to be equal - ie - the short sides and the long sides need to be the same - and as long as it lays flat you're in good shape - please post pics

Thanks. This was hard to get "flat" because its cabled AND has an edging. I guess I got the best results *I* could...lol. will post pics when I'm done. Passed out cold from work last night.
