Hi Tralee

To answer your question about what side my strap and panel are facing. Yes it's facing toward the sleeve and that's where it is not supposed to be facing.

So, sorry to keep bothering and asking for help.

Cathrin-

Always ask for help. You are not a bother at all. This helps me to see where some people get stuck at, so that future designs can be that much better! Never hesitate. I take value in every word- as it truly helps me! Tralee is an expert at this pattern- she has worked it a few times now :) Hopefully she gets you on the right track!!

I'm having trouble trying understand how you get 7 trb. when you're making the lg. fan. I read 6 times. Does that include the ch 5 and ch1 and that counts as a trb. stitch? I thought you made what was in the brackets the number outside of them. Can you explain this to me. I am so totally confused.

Thanks

Beg-tr-fan (Ch 5, tr [ch 1, tr] 5 times) all in stitch indicated=

Ch 5 = 1 tr and a ch 1 (first tr and ch-1 sp)
tr = (2nd tr)
[ch 1, tr] 5 times = ch 1 and tr 5 more times for a total of 7 tr and 6 ch-1 sps

Does that help? The first "ch 5" should state "(Counts as a tr and ch-1 sp)"

There was someone on here whose name is Goldy, but I can't find how to get back to her, so I can ask more questions.

Like I've been saying, I'm making my tr. with only 6 tr, not 7 like it says to in the pattern. So far I'm not missing any stitches. I've been doing rds 9 and 10 so the dress wil be the correct length of 11.5 inches. Will the missing tr. have any effect on the dress? I can't get an answer from anyone that I have emailed about this question. As far as I know I have the revised pattern. Not sure if when it was revised. I believe I bought her pattern last fall, but I can't remember or not. If there are revisions, please can someone tell me what they are.

The instructions I think should have said that the ch 5 and ch 1 equal 1 tr. I still get only 6 tr. the way that I'm counting. So if ch 5 + 1 ch = 1 tr. then what it says in the brackets adds up to 7 tr. Will it matter if I'm minus 1 tr.?

Sorry to keep asking this question.

Cathy - Above is what carolyn wrote. If you follow what she has written out you will end up with 7trs and 6 ch-1 sps. The first tr and ch-1 is made up from the ch5 at the beginning of the fan. Then you have a tr before the part that is in the [ ]'s. So that is your second tr. Then you do what is in the [ ]'s five times and that will be your 3rd-7th trs. If you don't want to pull it out it will be okay. You may have to adjust the edging later on to make it work. If you have more problems just put it on here and I will check in daily. Hope this helps you.

Cathy, I have responded with multiple emails about your question. I'm not sure why it would be working correctly for you without missing stitches if you are only using 6 tr instead of 7. :?

Thankyou. It's a mystery to me too. I'm just going to continue working the way I've been working.

Thankyou again for your emails. I really appreciate any help that I can get from this forum.

Take care

Hmm, Cathy, when you get a chance, can you tell me what version of the pattern you have?

That may be the issue. There were a few changes, and perhaps, maybe inadvertently there were some errors made. Let me know and I will take a look at the version you have.

Lisa

My pattern says it is a 2006 and the version 5b. I looked at Goldys part of the pattern that was sent to me and mine doesn't look like that at all. This might explain why I'm having such a diffcult time with this pattern.

Thanks for getting back to me
