Hello

I was wondering if anyone that is making the Princess of Twilight is having any problems like I'm having? I keep on having to many stitches when I start the dress. I am making the 3-6 month size and I'm using a 3mm hook. I don't know if I'm reading the pattern wrong or that I'm not counting the stitches as in the pattern. I get down to row 6 and I'm having 19 miniloops instead of 17 as it says in the pattern. Lisa I know this is a busy time of the year, so I would understand if I don't get an answer. :D I am to have 32 st. to start out with. Any suggestions of what I might be doing  wrong, would be accepted and welcomed.

Thanks

Cathrine

Hi Catherine...
I just took a look at the pattern and it looks right... All I can think of is you have an extra row of the dbl mini loops (increase rows)that is making your row 6 wrong... Rows 2 and 4 are the increase rows... I would check these again.
Then row 5 is a repeat of row 3 which is NOT an increase row... Row 6 is a repeat of row 4 which IS an increase row...
Let us know what you get...

It sounds like you have an extra increase row in there somewhere. I agree with Brandy, the pattern looks right.. What I would do it this: Rip it out. (I know, yuck). And then, work row by row. At end the of each row, write down the number of miniloops you have. When a row does not match what it says you should have, rework that row step by step, and come here and let us know what happens.

What you can also do is rip one row by one row, until you are matched up with what the pattern says.

Also here is what you have have. Work even means work a miniloop in each miniloop, with no increases. Increase row means to work an double-miniloop at beginning, and one at the end.

Row 1: You should have 11 miniloops
Row 2: Increase row -- 13 mniniloops
Row 3: Work even -- 13 miniloops
Row 4: Increase row -- 15 miniloops
Row 5: Work even -- 15 miniloops
Row 6: Increase row -- 17 miniloops
Row 7: Work even -- 17 miniloops
Row 8: Increase row -- 19 miniloops

Let us know what happens!

Thanks

I will try again and count each stitch and row as suggested. Maybe the coloured numbers is where I am going wrong. I circled them so my eyes wouldn't jump to different numbers. I so much want to make this dress and I'm going to if it kills me.

Have the Merriest Christmas everyone and thanks for helping me at this busy time of the year :D

Hi Lisa

Could you please tell me how many miniloops are supposed to be between the straps. I count 7 of them. Is that incorrect? I believe that I've followed and read the pattern instructions correctly. Please could you help me again. Can I send a picture of what I've done so far? My dress doesn't look like the example that came with the pattern when it comes to the straps.

Thanks again

Happy holidays

Cathrin :)

Size 3-6 months has 11 miniloops at the top of the panel. You will be using 3 miniloops on each end of the panel for the straps. There should be 5 in between.

Hi again

Does the first part of the dress look like a bottom of boat?
Mine does, is that how it's supposed to look. I am using a 3 ply yarn, maybe that is why it looks different.
Thanks again
