I have now completed the sunhat pattern and it looks like it would fit a newborn, not at all the size in the picture. I used a size steel hook and I think a number 10 crochet cotton
. What did I do wrong that it is so small?

the hat in princess of twilight uses a fingering weight yarn. are you referring to a different pattern?
