Alpine Walk

Alpine Walk

Postby luvmyboys » Thu Jul 23, 2009 3:50 pm

I have a question on Alpine Walk Rnd 9:

Rnd 9: Ch 1, fpdc around same fpdc, sk next fptr, fptr around first fpdc of next 3-fpdc group, sc in next sc, skipping fpdc that fptr was worked around, 3 fpdc around next fpdc (the center fpdc), sk next fpdc...'

I am struggling with this round. When I do it as written when I get to the part I have in bold above I am at the fpdc that has a group of 5 sc between them, not the center of a 3 fpdc group.

After I fptr around the first fpdc do I go back and sc in the skipped sc? I am lost.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Rnd 9: Ch 1, fpdc around same fpdc, sk next fptr, fptr around first fpdc of next 3-fpdc group, sc in next sc, skipping fpdc that fptr was worked around, 3 fpdc around next fpdc (the center fpdc), sk next fpdc, sc in next sc, fptr around skipped fpdc (last fpdc of same 3-fpdc group), sk next fptr,

Look at the pattern at the photo next to Rnd 8 to use a guide as though were are working into that rnd.

1. We work a fpdc around the first fpdc.
2. See the next fptr? we will sk that.
3. We will then sk this next sc (which is bet the group of 3 fpdc and the skipped fptr) and we will work a fptr around the first post of that 3-fpdc group.
4. There is some confusing wording in here. We should have a sk sc to make it even more clear right before working the fptr. So you are correct in that you will work behind the fptr just made and sc in skipped sc.
5. Then work 3 fpdc around center dc of that 3-dc group (thus, the fpdc after the last fptr was worked around).

So what i will be amending is this: (additions in blue) (deletions in red)
Rnd 9: Ch 1, fpdc around same fpdc, sk next fptr, sk next sc, fptr around first fpdc of next 3-fpdc group, working behind fptr just made, sc in next skipped sc, skipping fpdc that fptr was worked around, 3 fpdc around next fpdc (the center fpdc), sk next fpdc, sc in next sc, fptr around skipped fpdc (last fpdc of same 3-fpdc group), sk next fptr, fpdc around next fpdc, sc in each of next 1 [2, 2, 2, 2] sc, work 1 [1, 1, 2, 3] sc in next sc, sc in each of next 1 [2, 2, 2, 2] sc, *fpdc around next fpdc, sk next fptr, sk next sc,fptr around first fpdc of next 3-fpdc group, working behind fptr just made, sc in next skipped sc, skipping next fpdc that fptr was worked around, 3 fpdc around next fpdc (the center fpdc), sk next fpdc, sc in next sc, fptr around last fpdc of same 3-fpdc group (this is the last fpdc of the 3-fpdc group), sk next fptr, fpdc around next fpdc, sc in each of next 1 [2, 2, 2, 2] sc, work 1 [1, 1, 2, 3] sc in next sc, sc in each of next 1 [2, 2, 2, 2] sc, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of first fpdc–– 25 fpdc, 10 fptr, 25 [30, 35, 40, 45] sc.

Let me know how this helps?

how funny... I am making this too... .and was coming to report the same problem.
The new instructions above will work fine Lisa... but it will have to be fixed in rnd 10 also.
