I'm working on my second Afghan of the Sandman and I think I had this same question but just guessed the first time.
Should there be 3 or 5 sc in the corner loops on the first round of the edging. I have 5 in each corner, but the instructions for round 2 reference the "3-sc group."

What version are you working from? I just looked at version 6 and it has 3 sc in each corner.

I am working from 5d. As I read the instructions, the top and bottom edges have 3 sc in each end and then 2 sc in the end of each row. Am I not suppose to put 2 sc in the ends of the first and last rows where the 3 sc are?

The 3sc at the beginning and end of sides 1 and 3 form the corners the center sc of each 3sc group is the actual corner of the blanket. The 2 sc worked in each row of sides 2 and 4 are considered the stitches on the sides.

That makes sense. Thanks.

Jill, latest version is 6b, which I have just sent you

It is updated, and in the current writing style, which should hopefully help with that confusion there. Thank you Tralee for giving her a hand!!

Good good! Slowly getting through all the patterns. Starting with most popular, or easiest patterns to update first. I am glad you are so pleased!!

I'm just about to start the border. I'm having trouble understanding the first round. The note says to only turn when specified, but should I be chaining 1 and turning, i.e. start with the top edge first. Or should I be going down the side edge?

Dima, which version of the pattern are you working from?
