Hi

I am back again. I'm having trouble with the making the arm holes. I have made the strap A and I've also made the strap B. My problem is when I go to add the 13 chains to make the increases, I keep coming up with the curved part on the wrong side of the strap. Are you supposed to work into the back of the 13 chains where it says to turn or do you work into the front of them. Can someone in the forum explain to me what I'm doing wrong. It doesn't matter what side of the strap that I make the increase in, the curved area, which is the armhole. Where you join the panels, is that a straight edge.

Thanks

Cathrin  :x :?

The ch 13 here will be heading toward the center of the back where you will button up the dress. It won't be curved here, it will just extend the back of the dress behind the neck. Hope this helps. :D

Hi

I have a question for you. Are the straps supposed to be wide like it shows in the example in the picture on the website? My straps are only about an inch in width. Is that correct? I'm really trying to make my dress to look exactly like the picture.

Thanks

Cathrin :)

The stitch gauge is 7 miniloops=3.25", so the strap would be about 1.85" for the 4 miniloops. It will become wider after you add the sleeves and the neck edging.

Hello

Thanks for explaining that to me Tralee. One side of my dress is working for me, but the other one, I keep getting the chains heading the wrong way. I AM doing something wrong, but I don't know what.

Have a good one

Cathrin :)

Which side is going the wrong way? Maybe I can help. When you say the wrong way, do you mean that it is coming out on the sleeve edge instead of toward the center back or do you mean that your miniloops are heading back toward the previous row instead of continuing back?

Hi

Let me see if I can explain by coming out on the wrong way. On the left side of the dress where the straps attach instead of the piece that pointing toward the back it points toward the outside where a sleeve would be attached. It's really hard to describe this to you. To me it looks like to feet heading the same direction if you lay out the straps and the yoke or bodice as I call it that. Is there anyway that I could send a picture of what I've done so far?

Thanks

Hello again Lisa

Was wondering if you have received any of the emails that I've sent out to you. If not, I will explain where I'm having a difficult time with. I know that the straps attach to the yoke, which joins facing inwards to the back. My problem is that the other strap is not facing towards the back, but the other direction. Is that correct or have I somehow twisted the strap in some crazy way. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday and the best for the New Year to come to you and yours.

Thanks
