Counting First Row

Counting First Row

Postby ALEXANDRIA » Mon Oct 21, 2013 12:12 pm

I just started this afghan and keep getting 25 triple chain 3 lps on the first row with a chain of 155. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Hello Alexandria, I am so sorry you are having trouble with this! Hopefully I can get you on the right track :) Can you first tell me what version you are working from? This way I can make sure we are both looking at the same instruction :)

This is version 6P. After I made this post I had a cup of coffee and recovered from the senior moment that brought me to write that. I realized that the count works out mathematically and the problem is being able to see the stitches well to count them. I've always had trouble with that when working in a row of chains so I just put on extras and tried to be consistent so it would be symmetrical. It seemed to work. Sorry for the bother.

Oh it is no bother at all!! And , you never know when there is indeed an error. Feel free to come here anytime, even when you have those moments. I call them, "I forgot my coffee!" moments :)

I am completely confused on crocheting the body of this afghan. When I get to the fourth row or so I have a big ruffly mess. I can't figure it out.

Be sure you are doing the trp ch3lps only once in the center ch 3 lp of each trp ch3lp the previous row not in ech ch3 lp across.

Can you send me a photo that I can upload here, so I can see how it looks? Depending on tension, I have seen some people's beginnings of this afghan looks "ruffly" per se. But to be sure everything is going as intended, a photo would allow us to be able to make sure everything is going as it should. Please send your photos to: customerservice@crochetgarden.com
I will keep an eye out for it.
