Dc-ridge

Dc-ridge

I'm having trouble with the last round: the DC-ridge. I have version 5d of your pattern. Is there a video tutorial for these stitches? I'm not sure what I have been doing is correct.

There isn't a video. Could you post a picture of what you have done? I'm sure someone could help you if we knew for sure what you're doing. Thanks

This is the last round of the edging (my version is Ver 6), is this the round that you are having trouble with?

Rnd 10: Ch 1, sk first sc, dc in next sc, working behind dc just made, sc in skipped sc, *sk next sc, dc in next sc, working behind dc just made, sc in skipped sc, rep from * around, join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

If so, what you are doing here is crossing your stitches. First you skip the first sc ( the one you sl st into)then you work a dc into the next sc. Now comes the tricky part, you will have to pull down the dc that you just made and put your hook into the sc that you first missed and complete a sc. ( Sometimes it helps to put a stitch marker into the space that you are looking for to help you locate it.) Now you will skip the next sc, dc into the next stitch and then go back and sc into the sc that you missed like you just did before. Let me know if this doesn't work.

Carolyn
That is the row I'm having trouble with. The words "working behind" are confusing me. After working the Dc, when I go back to do the sc, should I be inserting my hook from the right or wrong side of my work?

I think Carolyn will agree with me. Pull the dc towards you and work behind that st, insert hook from front to back to pick up the loop for the sc , finish the sc and then continue on. Carolyn will explain it better. I just jumped in if you want an answer a little faster.
