Hi! Can you tell us exactly which part you are having trouble with? Is it the actual forming of the arm holes or is it the size/number sequence? such as which size or what number of stitches you crochet for your size written out like this? 11 (11.12,13,13) Please let us know, look forward to helping you. :)

I'm on the row two of forming armholes/body foundation section.

My problem is with this part of the pattern:
**[sk next hdc, ch21p in next hdc] 11 (11.12,13,13) times**, It doesn't seem to make sense b/c the next part is to: sk next ch, [ch21p in next ch, sk next 2 ch] 2 (3,3,3,3) times which seems to be the chain 12 I did to form the armhole from Row 1. I guess I need help breaking down: **[sk next hdc, ch21p in next hdc] 11 (11.12,13,13) times**, what I'm being directed to do here.

Thanks so much for your help!!

You will skip the next hdc and make a chain 2 loop in the next hdc for as many times as the size you are working (11, 12, or 13 times). When you reach the chains from the previous row, you will do the same thing except in a chain instead of a hdc. I hope this helps.

I must have gone wrong somewhere b/c if I skip the next hdc and make a ch21p in the next hdc 13 times, I will still have a lot of hdc left and will not be able to do the second part which is: sk next ch, [ch21p in next ch, sk next 2 ch] 2 (3,3,3,3)

I'm at work and I don't have the pattern with me, but I have more than 13 hdc before I get to the single chains I made from the previous row of chain 12. I hope I'm making sense :-( :-(

I was a little intimadated when I started this project, however I'm not ready to give up yet.

Thanks!!

Go back and check your previous row, stitch by stitch and see if you can spot a mistake, maybe that will make this row make more sense. Let us know how it goes!

I think Heart is right you need to see what the count is on the row before. On the row your having the trouble with you should have 26 hdc before you come to your ch 12. I love the looks of this pattern but did not test it.

Another tip I have that I am going to put into a future update in this pattern is, instead of doing hdc on that row, work dc. There is something funky with hdc and I really do believe hdc sts start to "melt" into one another. I had 2 ladies change and work dc, and then the next row worked flawlessly. Something about those hdc sts, and sounds like this may be that issue there.

So all you need to do is work dc instead of hdc on the row before. Then see if this works.
