Crochet Garden Testing Forum

A small community of those who test and would like to test Crochet Garden patterns. However, there is more than just testing. We have swaps, discuss fibers, our family…

Crochet Garden Support Forum

This is where customers and those working up the Crochet Garden free patterns can go for support, and post errors or suggestions, or just comment on patterns. This is also the place where errata is posted. Please be patient when posting questions. Sometimes, one may not know the answer to your question, and the next will. Myself and volunteers try to visit the board often :)

I hope the tutorials will clarify the directions for Cable Afghans. We are all puzzled but love the look of the stitches.

Hello Dorothy! So sorry for a delayed response (I was in major unpack, holiday mode)… Have you been able to figure out the sts? Which patterns are these for?

how can I purchase the moorish mosiac afghan pattern?

  4. Lisa says:

Hello dear! You can purchase it in the Fall 2009 issue of Interweave Crochet. You can get that at the Crochet Garden website: http://www.crochetgarden.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=87_90&products_id=309 or you can purchase it from Interweave Crochet: http://www.interweavestore.com/Crochet/Interweave-Crochet-Magazine.html?sort=itemiddesc&catid=1545

Let me know if you need anything else! :)

    Hi Lisa,

I wanted to ask your advice about the Early Girl Dress and Juliet Dress patterns. I saw the Early Girl pattern in my copy of Interweave Crochet magazine and I loved it right away. I would love to make it for my 7 year old daughter. However, I did feel a little daunted by the “level 4” difficultly rating.

I was then browsing your patterns on Ravelry and your lovely website and I saw the Juliet dress. It, too, is beautiful and my daughter loves the fancy edging on the hem. It also looks similar to the Early Girl, but a little simpler, almost like the Early Girl design evolved from the Juliet – would I be right in guessing that? I see there are a lot of people on Ravelry who have used the pattern and love the design.

Anyway, I guess I wanted to ask you:

Do you feel one is easier than the other?
Do they use a similar amount of yarn? Is one of them more light-weight than the other? (I live in a warm climate would like this to be light and comfortable to wear – I wonder if the extra cables in Early Girl make the dress thicker?)
Do you personally think one is better than the other (superior design and/or construction, ease of making it, pleasure of working the stitches, etc)?

I am happy to buy the Juliet pattern but thought I would write to you for advice first. Hope you don’t mind.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you,
    Caz :)

Hi lisa i purchased the lovely dixie belle pattern SKU#3I6, I am working my way through your pattern, sometimes having to do things opposite as I am a leftie. I was wondering if you had pictures of the back of the dress so I know what I am working towards. I have only learnt to crochet a few years ago and this is my first clothing item and I want to get it right for my daughters baptism.

If you are able to let me know if you have diagrams/photos of the back of the dress

    thank you
    shirleyann

Shirleyann- I am so sorry for being late in getting back to you on this. Are you still working on this? I am planning on working this and getting photos taken. It seems there are a few people who have had problems with this non-traditional construction.

Caz, I am so sorry I missed approving this message. I had been trying to manage the spam count and this post slipped through. I wanted to let you k now I feel both are of the same difficulty :) I do feel they both are intermediate, rather than advanced.
