About

Crochet Garden

I am a single mom and a designer. My grandmother taught me the basic sc and chain stitch, as well as knitting when I was about 9 years old. She was strict, so I often drove her batty not wanting to succumb to her vigorous workout of monotonous stitching, and then making me rip each and every mistake. Instead, I would secretly “make up” my own stitches, and then go to her innocently and lay blame upon the yarn – it was not a good yarn! She was strict, and I can now only thank her for it.

The Crochet Garden began in the year 2005. I design full time to support my kids. I firmly believe, where there is a will, there is a way. First and foremost, one must be charged and have passion… Then, anything is possible.

At night…. the hooks come alive…

  1. I saw your Dragonfly Shawl online which was published in Interweave Crochet, Winter 2008. I am interested in crocheting this piece. Where can I find the instructions?

  2. Hi Lisa,
Is there any possibility of the Fairytale Keepsake Dresses patterns being available again for purchase? I would really like to have these patterns so I could make them. Thank you. Marilyn

  3. Hi Marilyn,

Right now it is under review. I am not sure if that particular pattern will be coming back. However, I am currently working on some in size 10 thread- keep an eye on the blog and the newsletter got updates to both!

  4. How do I ask you a question regarding modifications to your Dahlia Shawl? It appeared in the Spring 2011 issue of Interweave Crochet.
    Thank you!

  5. Hi Lisa.
Can you tell me about how many yards are needed for the beautiful edging on your
    Dahlia Shawl?
    Thanks a bunch!
